Three years ago,Metrojacksonville launched its first episode of a new feature examining the kind of crazy way that counterproductive and appalling stuff happens in Jville. The subject was the lead up to a private group to manage Hemming Park. Revisit the episode with Joshua Taylor and Amanda Morales for a painful chuckle after the jump!

Josh Taylor and Amanda Morales of Metrojacksonville.com discuss why Jacksonville can't have nice things in this amusing factual recount of a recent attempt to deal with poor people using a historic park in Downtown Jacksonville Florida.  Filmed in Partnership with News4Jax.com

Now three years later, after the City was able to dump a few million dollars, create an entire organization to serve the park, enlist the help and time of thousands of community volunteers and well wishers, a new council (led by some of the same old usual suspects) is doing everything that they can to defund the park.

Check out the current controversy here.
