Florida is the first state to report local transmission of Zika, which is spread by mosquitoes. Melissa Ross welcomed Dr. Mobeen Rathore, Associate Chair, Department of Pediatrics and Chief, Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunology with UF Health to First Coast Connect. Florida Governor Rick Scott announced Friday that health officials have ruled out travel and sexual transmission as possible routes of transmission for four Florida people now infected with Zika virus.
