Lola's Burrito Joint
1522 King St
Jacksonville, FL 32205
Lola's Burrito Joint is a casual restaurant with a Latin accent. It's not just burritos, though, and it's not strictly Mexican. The food is influenced by the favors of not only Mexico, but Cuba, South America, Spain, and... Philadelphia. Really. There's a Philly cheese steak burrito on the menu.
Vegetarian and vegan dishes are available, but for all you carnivores there's chicken, beef, pork, lamb and seafood dishes, quite a few with tongue-in-cheek names. Lola's has beer, wine, and a full bar, and lots of margaritas. They intend to add a burger menu, and hope to have some entertainment in the future.
There is a patio with tables out front; inside the restaurant are tall booths of dark wood, and the brick walls are hung with bright, cheerful artwork that would be right at home at a Dia de Los Muertos celebration. The atmosphere is friendly and laid back. You do not need reservations, and gratuities are not added to your bill.
