Fionn MacCool's has the same kind of feel as a typical Irish pub; stone, dark wood, beer signs, you know the drill. What's different is that it's big and airy instead of little and grotty like all the Irish pubs I've ever visited. There's a big dining room, a big covered patio, and more tables right next to the river.
And then there's the menu, which has everything on it from bar food to fine dining. (Duck confit chef's special, anyone?) Fionn MacCool's menu has traditional Irish food like shepherd's pie and corned beef and cabbage; American food with an Irish accent, like the Guinness barbecue chicken sandwich; and European-inspired dishes such as filet mignon with wine demiglaze and garlic truffle butter. Burgers, pizza, sandwiches, soups, salads... there is something to appeal to everybody. Vegetarian and vegan options are available, and they get as much food as possible from local sources.
Prices vary; there are a lot of menu items in the $8-20 dollar range, some cost more, some cost less. Reservations are available, but not required. Gratuities may be added to the check for large parties.
