Its been a busy year for Fred Durst. He is currently working on his third film, "Pawnshop Chronicles" and in February he announced after reuniting Limp Bizkit in 2009 that the band would be signing onto the Cash Money label. One of his side projects was to make a cameo appearance with Insane Clown Posse. ICP recently confirmed what many have been saying about the man once widely considered one of the biggest asses in show business. Fred has turned out to be a decent man and an nice guy: Join us below the fold for Insane Clown Posse on our boy Fred and the new project.
In August, ICP is set to release The Mighty Death Pop, which features three different bonus versions of the LP. The White Pop bonus disc features collaborations with different artists, including Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit. Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope talk about working with Fred in a new video.
On The Pawn Shop Chronicles:
Pawn Shop Chronicles is a rare film that actually has the plot summary within in its own title. According to 24 Frames, a local pawnshop misplaces a wedding ring and the main character, Paul Walker, begins a wild goose chase to hunt it down in the small southern town. On the way, he stumbles across two meth addicts, several white supremacists, an Elvis impersonator, and a man searching for his lost wife.
So just who gets to boast of notching these juicy parts ripe with creativity under their belts? Besides the captivating Paul Walker (captivating as in his appearance, not his acting abilities), Durst has cast Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings), Vincent DOnofrio (Men in Black), Matt Dillon, and Brendan Fraser (The Mummy). As to who will play whom, well were just going to have to guess because Durst failed to mention that.
While Durst may seem an odd choice to direct, the musician turned director has made some decent films over the last couple of years, including 2007s The Education of Charlie Banks.
Despite the fact that Wayne Kramer is listed as directing the film on IMDb, that information is out of date and most likely the Running Scared director will be participating only as a producer on set, although he may be a very hands-on producer.
Despite Waynes mysterious participation in the film, it does have at least one producer already on board: Jordan Schur, who told Deadline, This is a superbly written mind-bender of a story that grabs you from the first line and doesnt let go. We are incredibly fortunate to have found Wayne Kramer to present it and equally thrilled with the diverse and talented cast assembled.
Adam Minarovich (The Walking Dead) will pen the script, claiming the film will have a Pulp Fiction vibe to it.
Other notable casting includes Kevin Rankin, Pell James, Thomas Jane, Lukas Haas, and Ashlee Simpson. No doubt this will be one entertaining set to be on during filming which is currently underway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
