More information about Tony Rodrigues

Jacksonville, Florida based Artist Tony Rodrigues is foremost a Painter, but his work is most intimately tied to the medium of photography. "I'm drawn to the pictures and images in old catalogs, manuals, and printed euphemera. Painting from a found image and placing it in a new context is a really fascinating process for me. Most of the images weren't supposed to be seen as artistic, which... makes you have to reassess what they could suggest."
