23. Takhrai Thai

Mandarin's Takhrai Thai plans to open a new Thai restaurant in Five Points at 1620 Margaret Street. Expected to open in December 2015, the new restaurant will have a different name than the Mandarin location.

24. Hoptinger Bier Garden and Sausage House

Hoptinger Bier Garden and Sausage House will be investing $1 million to build-out a new restaurant and bar in Five Points at 1037 Park Street. The new restaurant is expected to open in spring 2016.

25. IL DESCO

IL DESCO will replace Pele’s Wood Fire at the intersection of Park and King Streets. IL DESCO will serve simple Italian cuisine with a light and fun atmosphere. The menu will consist of lighter portion options, house-made pastas, and will maintain a large selection of crisp wood fired pizzas. IL DESCO will also feature a full raw bar with oysters and seasonal seafood selections. IL DESCO plans to open this fall.

26. Timoti's Seafood Shak

Timoti's Seafood Shak is planning to open a new restaurant at 1018 Park Street in Five Points. Known for their fish tacos, lobster rolls, local and wild caught seafood, Timoti's operates a popular restaurant in Fernandina Beach's historic district.

27. Bearded Buffalo Brewing Company

Scott McAlister has started interior work on the Bearded Buffalo Brewing Company on King Street. When complete, the entertainment venue will offer craft beer, a broad liquor selection, food, bowling and more. The 99-seat restaurant/bar will be located at 1012 King St. between Burger King and Panda House.







28. Happy Grilled Cheese

Happy Grilled Cheese is opening a brick and mortar across the street in the original Cozy Tea space.

29. Summit Contracting Group, Inc.

Padgett Premiere Properties is renovating the exterior of 1000 Riverside Avenue. Padgett paid $3 million for the 9-story building in October 2014. Summit Contracting Group, an affiliate of Padgett, relocated 70 employees from the Southside to the building in January. Padgett is also planning to add first floor retail, such as a high-end gym and sandwich/coffee shop to the building.

30. Bold City Brewery

Expansion efforts to increase brewing capacity at Bold City's Riverside brewery continue. Larger tanks are being installed outside of the structure.

31. Southern Kitchen and Spirits

3638 Park Street was recently demolished by JPM Avondale LLC. JPM Avondale LLC plans to build a 250-seat, 8,071-square-foot restaurant called South Kitchen and Spirits.






32. Wine Down Cigar Lounge

The Wine Down Cigar Lounge by Tobacco Galore will be opening soon at 1070 Edgewood Avenue South in Murray Hill.






33. Magnolia's Pub

1198 South Edgewood Avenue will become the new location of Magnolia's Pub. The family friendly restaurant serving waffle sandwiches, salads, dessert waffles, weekend brunch and pub fare was recently approved for a parking reduction and outside sales of beer, wine and liquor. The new restaurant should open in early 2016.
