Major construction projects have returned to the landscape of Jacksonville's urban core. Find out where (and more) as we take a brief look at the status of various developments under construction in and around Downtown Jacksonville during the month of October 2015.






3. Beaver Street Villas



LaVilla's long closed New Center Hotel at 605 North Broad Street is being renovated by nearby Clara White Mission into street level offices and 16 upper level apartment units.

4. Folk Food



The Folkfood food truck will open a new brick and mortar location just a few doors down from Hemming Plaza at 219 N. Hogan Street. Folkfood will be bringing their menu to the former Skyway Café location. In addition, they'll be changing the name and getting a beer and wine license.

5. Levels

Former New York Jets wide receiver Laveranues Coles Jr.'s plans to convert 323-325 East Bay Street into a three-story restaurant called Levels. Described as an "upscale and grown venue," each floor will feature a bar and stage for live music. However, renovation work appears to have ceased.









6. Sweet Pete's Expansion

CNBC's "The Profit" Marcus Lemonis has 424 North Hogan Street under contract for the expansion of Sweet Pete’s Candy and The Candy Apple Café & Cocktails.Plans call for the former Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta to be utilized for classroom, retail, and private event space for Sweet Pete’s and The Candy Apple Café. Renovations are anticipated to begin immediately following the closing of the purchase agreements.

7. Unity Plaza Hotel Site

NAI Hallmark Partner's demolition of an existing building at the intersection of Magnolia and Forest Streets continues. A $23 million, 150-room wellness-focused hotel has been proposed for this site.









8. Upstairs at Da Real Ting

Upstairs at Da Real Ting is coming soon to 128-2 West Adams Street.
