MAA takes Metro Jacksonville on a tour of 220 Riverside. Will this be the urban residential project that stimulates the market for more housing in downtown?

After years of anticipation, on May 4th, 220 Riverside will welcome its first wave of residents. The first residents will move into 26 units on the sixth/top floor of the mid-rise luxury apartment community. The sixth floor is 100% leased and the entire community is 58.5 percent leased, far outpacing projections and further reflecting the strong appeal of the property.

The excitement surrounding 220 Riverside is being driven by the mixed-use development's creative concept, its integration with the new Unity Plaza urban park, and the concentration of additional mixed-used development rising in Brooklyn, including the recently completed Fresh Market grocery store.

According to MAA, the response and demand for this mid-rise, urban mixed-use community has been phenomenal. Many are seeking to live in an urban walkable environment, suggesting that there is a pent of demand for urban housing in Jacksonville.

“The community’s response to the development of 220 Riverside has been incredible,” said Kelly Treadaway, Property Manager. “220 Riverside has become one of the city’s most sought after new addresses. We look forward to providing our residents with an exceptional place to call home in one of Jacksonville’s most dynamic and well-connected neighborhoods.”

MAA currently owns and operates over 3,000 apartment homes in the Jacksonville market. 220 Riverside is MAA's 10th property in the Jacksonville market and first in the core of the city.

Many of 220 Riverside's apartment homes overlook Unity Plaza and offer beautiful views of the St. Johns River.  Other amenities include a state-of-the art fitness studio, resident lounge, cyber café, pet grooming stations, and a resort-style saltwater pool complete with built-in barbecue grilling stations.

The development features 12 floor plans for prospective residents to choose from, ranging from a 618-square-foot studio to a 1,204-square-foot two-bedroom, two-bath apartment home. Units feature granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, high-quality cabinetry with brushed nickel hardware, faux hardwood flooring, and washer/dryer sets in each.

Current lease rates range from the $900s to $1,900 a month. MAA's onsite leasing office at 220 Riverside is open seven days a week. Prospective residents can also select available apartments and complete rental applications online at www.220riversideapartments.com 24 hours a day.
