Beaches Construction Update: December 2011

M Shack


The gourmet burger joint is now open next to Ragtime in the Beaches Town Center. They serve unique and reasonably priced burgers, a variety of fries, and good ol' milkshakes.





Royal Palm Village Wine & Tapas


This new wine bar and retail shop, opening last month, is a gem, located on Royal Palms Dr. off Atlantic Blvd.

Caribee Key


The 'Tropical Bar & Grille' closed down due to financial issues about two weeks ago. There is no word on what, if anything will go into the vacant space next, but surely something, because of the desirable location in the Beaches Town Center.



Square One Skate Shop


A longtime locals favorite is now closed on S. 3rd St. and 11th Ave. The skatewear retail shop suffered financial losses.





Autoline


The popular auto dealership and shop off Mayport Rd. moved its budget car lot adjacent to its showcase lot, in a newly bought space that was previously a church.



STRATA Clothing


The local clothing company is reportedly moving its operations into this purchased building on A1A off Mayport Rd.



Grom Angie's


The local favorite has opened a second location. Its new, "jr." deli in the former Bravo Burrito space on 3rd Ave. S and 2nd St. will serve the full menu.



Metro Diner


A third location of this popular restaurant is in progress in the plaza on 3rd St. N and 15th Ave. The original is off Hendricks Ave. The new one replaces the former Rite Spot restaurant.


The new spot bringing a change to the entire strip storefront.



VOID Magazine


The popular new locals mag is moving its offices to a bigger location in the Atlantic Theatre plaza, next to Powerhouse Gym.



Urban Flats Jax Beach

A completed look for the new branch in Atlantic Beach, but still waiting for an opening date...



33 STAR


The new "rock and roll" boutiques is now open for business in the long vacant building next to Ginger's Bar on 3rd Ave. S. and 3rd St.



Denny's





Comic Shop


Now open for business.





Jazzercise

A new location on 3rd St. N. and 10th Ave.



Pilates on 3rd

A new studio in the same plaza as above.



Seawalk Village Plaza


After external renovation, extended surface parking spaces have been added to cater to the growing crowds in this plaza and surrounding ones.





Club O


The longtime struggling space, that was formerly Ocean Club, than a defunct Club O, is set to be Sumi, an Asian fusion-inspired restaurant. The concept comes from the partners of Nippers Beach Grille, who've recently formed Escape Restaurant Group LLC. A part of this space on 1st St. in Jacksonville Beach will be used for another new concept of theirs, The Blue Bar. The company is set to open a total of eight themed restaurants.



Cleopatra's Middle Eastern Cuisine


A new ethnic eatery in the plaza on Atlantic Blvd. and Seminole Rd.



Bungalow


A new gift boutique has opened off 3rd St. N.



Just Brew It 2


The home brewery supplier shop opened a second location last month, in a former property mgmt. office. The first is next to Bold City Brewery.





Salt Spa




Ongoing construction of this new business is finally open off 3rd St. N. in Jax Beach.
