1534 Oak Street

Work continues on the new location of the Black Sheep Restaurant (formerly downtown's Chew).

2216 Oak Street

A new roof and storefronts are being installed in these historic "streetcar" transit oriented development commercial buildings (constructed in 1923) along Oak Street.

Tres Leches Bakery Cafe

Tres Leches Bakery Cafe will be opening on October 1, 2012 in the former Bakery Moderne space on Stockton Street.  Plans include serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner in addition to their famous desserts.

The Salty-Fig Southern Gastropub

The Salty Fig, A Southern Gastropub is expected to open at 901 King Street in September 2012.  According to the lastest edition of Arbus Magazine, the plan is to combine several vacant spaces in the 80-year old former Pic 'N' Save building into a restaurant featuring a bar, dining area and outdoor sidewalk seating.

Goozlepipe & Guttyworks

Sitework for King Street's Goozlepipe & Guttyworks restaurant continues.

The Garage

King Street's Garage has improved their property by replacing off-street parking with a courtyard featuring outdoor seating.

Katie Riehm says the name of her new Riverside area business, Sweet Revolution Baking Co., is a spin on her plan to take the craft to the next step of producing sweet treats with all-natural, allergy-free ingredients.

That means doughnuts, cupcakes, cookie sandwiches, muffins and breakfast items free of egg, dairy, soy and peanut ingredients. Many of the products also will be gluten-free.

Riehm calls her venture, which she will open at 1243 King St., “an alternative bakery.”

“It’s a whole new era of baked goods,” said Riehm, a 27-year-old Jacksonville native.

CoRK North

A third warehouse, north of Rosselle Street, is being converted into additional studio, gallery and entertainment space in the popular CoRK Arts District.

Mellow Mushroom

This infill project in Avondale is still alive and kicking.  Recent changes to the site plan now call for the demolition of the former Shell station on site.  A new building with surface parking in the rear will be constructed in its place.

Pulp Juice Bar

Pulp is still in the process of moving forward with opening their second urban Jacksonville location at the Shops of Avondale.
