Will Grier Wanted "Guarantees" from Florida
Former Gator quarterback Will Grier wanted a guarantee from the coaching staff that he'd be the starter once his suspension ended, when he wasn't given that promise, he transferred.

Will Grier led Florida to a 6-0 start to the 2015 season before being suspended by the NCAA for a year because of a failed test for performance enhancing drugs. Since deciding to leave the Gators’ program in December, not much has been heard from him.
Gainesville Sun columnist Pat Dooley joined 1010XL Jax Sports Radio on Tuesday morning with an update on Grier.
“The word (Grier’s) dad gave me a month ago is that (Will is) going to wait until after spring ball and assess where his best chance to play not this year but next year (2017) would be,” Dooley told host Jeff Prosser.
Speculation has been that Grier left the Gators after being told he would not automatically regain his starting position following the suspension, and Dooley reiterated that.
“(Grier and his father) wanted guarantees – the father came in there and said, ‘What’s the plan to get Will back in the lineup?’ ” Dooley said. “(The coaches) were like, ‘There is no plan; he can’t even rep until the seventh week. We’re going forward without him.’"
