and that it was done correctly in the first place (I'm thinking of the Laura St roundabout, the Kids Kampus at Metro Park, the Southbank Riverwalk, etc).

Well two things that were done correctly, without a doubt...

1:  Replaced the Pumps with brand new custom pumps (until now the original pumps from 1965 were in use)

2: Got rid of all that God awful concrete and Greened up the place :)

A plus has to be all the in Fountain Lighting is now LED, Brighter, Longer lasting and less electric use...  So that would have to be three ;)

Awesome!
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

I just finished uploading pictures and videos.

You can see the videos here:
http://www.youtube.com/JaxFountain

The two I want to point out are these two:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuUGTMIkp30
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVwaIekaUPU

But for Fans of the Fountain I would check them all out, they show the range of our Refurbished Fountain.  Remember that the Outer ring can now pump more water than ever before and can create a complete canopy over the Fountain.

The pictures are located here, still not labeled.

Great videos, Bob.  The new LED lights give way more intense colors than the original lights did and can be switched more rapidly too.

Seeing the fountain run again brings back some great memories of when it was new.
When all else fails hug the dog.

That is pretty nice. It would be cool if they swayed or could shoot independently somewhat like the Bellagio's fountains :)

I just finished uploading one video I took with my camera (the others were taken with a Samsung Camorder) and it is a full length song, 3.13 in length.  There are some moments of blurred focus which were camera related...
http://youtu.be/uRofiK4fFVc

Even though it isn't the greatest quality you can get an idea of a full song programming.

Also just for those that have asked there is supposed to be another (I believe full length) programming test this Thursday evening starting at 8 PM ET for COJ figures including the Mayor.  Hopefully all of the Park lighting will be lit as well, and there is a number of elements with that, up tree lighting as well as the Bollard lights and tier lighting.

Also for those who may be puttering around downtown late on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings you may see the Fountain in operation with lighting as the programmer works at night and expects to be working those nights..

The last sod should be laid today or tomorrow (just a small section in the north east corner) and other than that all that remains to be done is small detail type work, reinforcing the additional palms around the Pumphouse some minor wiring and such...

June 18 is coming fast and the Friendship Fountain renovations are in the Home Stretch :)

One more video to point out is the link below, I took that before sunset Sunday and gives an idea of the new layout when you walk into the Park, for those of you who have frequented the Fountain in the past you should see the huge differences immediately...

So far no one I have talked to has had any idea...

I searched and searched online regarding the statue and found references to a sculpture but not what it was...

Bobs Vid...

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/uRofiK4fFVc" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/uRofiK4fFVc</a>

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Bob,

What kind of statue is being placed in the round about?

Just got an email from the City PIO Officer Ginny Walthour and the sculpture is called "StiltWalkers" and was purchased by the San Marco Merchants Association to be placed on the roundabout at Museum Circle, which is also expected to be completed by Jun 18, 2011 in time for the Friendship Fountain Grand Reopening...

That is a neat looking sculpture.  Perfect for an area where there is a museum.
