Go ahead and open something up.  Just make sure it complements.  After all, the more the merrier.

Downtown will never be the same again?
Ha that sounds a little to much like club Paris and a big empty promise.
Hope it does not go ghetto like Paris or the DA Real Ting, Im sure they will be hosting parties for the Jaguar players before long to stay afloat and then Blam, Blam, Blam! Better bring a gun to party!!
THE MAYOR'S PREDICTION - If they have a radio station van parked out front opening night then bay street is about to get dangerous!!

Typical Jacksonville, doom, gloom and negativity. What is it you people want, the good ole days of Cowford maybe? Progress is happening and will not stop thanks to the influx of outsiders. Good luck to all the new businesses and don't worry about the naysayers, they don't spend money anyway.

I think I read somewhere that it's supposed to be an upscale R&B club.

Good to see other businesses opening.  How are the existing bars doing?  Some nights I see a bit of a crowd.

Mark's does really good it seems. Especially on Friday's and Saturday's. I think Dive Bar is still trying to find it's niche. There's never any set day that they have a good crowd there. TSI of course always get their draw of people. So hopefully Metropolis will bring something good to the table. I personally hope it's something on the upscale end of things. FYI... I've never heard anyone getting shot at Club Paris while it was open. Fights is another thing but that's bound to happen whenever you have a bunch of people inside drinking.
