Long John Silvers
« on: October 17, 2009, 08:39:23 PM »
Does anybody have, or know anybody who has the ability to open a franchise up?

I miss LJS's.  I think it's better than Captain D's.

Does anybody know of  a"batter dip'ed" fish restaurant in this area that has great batterdip'ed fish, and shrimp, at a good price?

I know it's not good for you, I will eat in moderation!

Umm, the yellow pages or googling seafood restaurants should help.

I don't think many "seafood lovers" go to Long John Silver's.

And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

Isn't Arthur Treacher's still headquartered in Jacksonville?

The closest Long John Silvers is in Gainsville. There are Captain D's all over the place.

If you are looking for fish and chips you need to look elsewhere to find the good ones. Price will be more but most any of the Irish Pubs have good fish and chips. I hear the food and entertainment at 'Culhanes is good.

Shannons is usually good.

Do a web search and you find words like diaster, rent due, and other not in business articles on Arthur Treacher's Jacksonville activities. You can find them in Ohio and New York.

LJS brings back fond childhood memories. I remember it smelled so good and the kids meals were in paper sea chests, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

I'm not a fan of Capt D's or Long John Silver's but it seems odd Jacksonville is the only city in Florida without one. Does anyone know why?

Jacksonville does seem to have alot of locally based seafood chains (St. John's, Cedar River, Crystal River, Sam's, Gene's).

^ I'd much rather have those local chains instead of a LJS.

A good "deep fried seafood" spot is Sharky's on US1 just south of 312 in St. Augustine.  They have fantastic beer battered shrimp and great broiled fish as well.

When I was a kid, I missed fish & chips from Arthur Treacher's.  I was too young.   They had one at Arlington Rd, and Rogero Rd.  (Next to the Carroll's Meat Market) , and yes (across the street form Long John Silvers!)

 Are they still in business?
If so, where?

REEDNAVY, will you google it for me?

I like St. Johns, and Gene's, and Jax Beach Seafood.  I wanted a fast food version of Long John Silver's, and if there is one, I want to know!
