Shameless plug time!

Fabio Mechetti and the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra provided the music for the Scott Jones Dancers in the Target-sponsored Family Series Concert "Let's Dance" performed at the Times Union Center January 11, 2009.
It was a really neat show.  The Symphony is wonderful and having to dance to classical music for hip-hop, tap, tumbling, and clogging is certainly not an easy task.  A few co-workers of mine happened to be in the audience, and the pictures are all over the office now.  And hooray for my ugly mug being on the T-U website!  ;D

I wish this would've gotten greater advertisement.  Shows like this are a really neat way to get more people in to see the Symphony than might normally would.  The JSO is truly a gem and needs to be pushed more than it is.

If there are more shows along these lines, I *highly* recommend everyone checking it out.

Yeah, the JSO is a terrific symphony and certainly should be a source of civic pride, regardless of one's interest in classical music.

Are you the guy dancing, Doc?

That's me!

And absolutely, 100% agree with your statement.

I have also attended a few JSO shows.  I have never thought of myself as a Symphony kind of guy... but I have enjoyed every concert I have been to.  Even met Fabio M. following one of the shows.  Who were you dancing with Doc?
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

She's a fellow instructor at Scott Jones, who teaches clogging along with me as well as Ballet.  She's also a member of this past year's Roar.  Truly an awesome and unpretentious woman.
