Former Black Sheep Restaurant to become bartaco
« on: March 20, 2024, 01:17:04 PM »
Quote
The former Black Sheep Restaurant space at 1534 Oak St. in Five Points will become a bartaco location.

Colliers real estate announced the opening in an Instagram post.

“In anticipation for Taco Tuesday - Bar Taco is set to make its debut in the iconic Black Sheep Building nestled within the vibrant hub of 5 Points. Renowned for its fusion of upscale street-style cuisine and a refreshing coastal ambiance, Bar Taco promises a dining experience like no other. Drawing inspiration from the laid-back beach cultures of Brazil, Uruguay, and Southern California, every aspect of Bar Taco embodies a sense of leisure and indulgence,” the post said.

The restaurant will use the entire restaurant space, which is about 5,500 square feet on the ground floor and 3,017 square feet on the rooftop terrace.

When Black Sheep opened I was so excited!
First visit was a disappointment in so many aspects.
Returned from time to time- always Upstairs.
At this point, probably will never access the building again.
Yes... a "Negative" Outlook. After all....Black Sheep closed.....
Biscottis,Brick,Bluefish,Fox have proven resilient.
It's been years since I last visited Mossfire.... worth a try??

Lots of complaints on-line about "another taco spot".  I don't go out of my way to go to Riverisde for tacos.  Nothing there excites me.  If they do a good job with the food and atmosphere I think this could be a really cool spot.

^They’ve got a lease and applied for initial permits last month.

Plan has always been for a 2025 open.

Yeah but that doesn't fit the narrative that Riverside and Avondale are going to hell because "those" people are moving in

Speaking of dormant... What is going on with the restaurant in the old bank at Oak and Lomax?  Seems like work has stopped.

I don’t know what you’re talking about here, but this is pretty weird. Either make sense or don’t post.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Zac T., to whom are you referring as "those" people?  That could be a little offensive, don't you think?  All FPL did was feed off of that statement, but he's the one who got raked over the coals for sharing his opinion, although along the same lines.  Once in a while, some people on this forum turn into piranha.  Check yourselves, first.

Zac’s comment very clearly wasn’t criticizing the people moving into Riverside-Avondale. FPL’s comment was inscrutable and weird like much of what they post.
