Today's entry comes from Clay County. Unseen and unknown by most in the region, from 1930 to 1965 Orange Park was home to one of the largest chimpanzee research operations in the world, the Yerkes Laboratories of Primate Biology. The mysterious “Monkey Farm” has given rise to one of the First Coast’s strangest legends: that a half-human, half-chimp “humanzee” was born within its walls. Could there be truth behind the story?

The Chimp Influence among the Clay County General population and…. Elite Clay population ( decades later tracked via Clay County Official Al””Brannon Chaffee/ First Coast Beltway became well entrenched, possibly best record.
The assembled Chimp Population back then exhibited an interesting ( and later Carefully studied during the Jax Delaney Administration) outlook:
Total dissatisfaction with the then mostly Clay rural ( “Jungle”) presence.
Chimp Influence was a Key Driver in lodging State Of Florida Clay Local Government  Growth Plan Giant Outer Beltway Concept. Basically on the order of Atlanta. Atlanta Chimp Facility was established before Kingsley Avenue.
