FYI - the old Baptist Office building on Hendricks, south side of I95, started to clean up a few things, put up some plastic barriers to prevent stuff getting washed into storm sewers, etc.  Nothing much but may be a sign they're getting ready to ramp up on something?  Maybe not?

That sure would be nice.  If you are talking about silt fence they wouldn't just put that up for fun but there are no active permits on that site.

Yep silt fence is up at the old Baptist Convention site on Hendricks.  There's a porta potty and mini excavator sitting out there but otherwise it's not clear what's happening.  They might be getting ready to clear the site.

Also, pavement is going down on the new DCSB parking lot for the district and equipment for seawall work has started to show up on site.

Ya, the riverwalk extension would be nice.   Rreminds me.... what's the scoop on the Riverwalk going west from River City Brewing?  Wasn't that going to be extended to the new apts on the west side of the tracks?  Or did that get put on hold given the RCB site plans / changes?

Interesting point on the silt fence.  Ya, they aren't likely to put it up for fun.  Maybe they're in the process pulling permits?

Just on the other side of I95, The SoBa apartments just sold for $36M after being built 2 - 3 years ago for $16M.   That's gotta get some folks thinking now is the time to get digiging, no?

I don't think the railroad track hurdle has been solved for the south bank riverwalk.

For the baptist site, I don't think they need permits to clear all of the old asphalt, etc.  I can't see a project like they had proposed there flying under the radar if they were getting ready to build.  I'd assume they would request some variances that would require Public hearings.

I had no idea that SoBa sold.  Talk about a payday...

They would need permits to clear the site. I'll check later to see if something is on file.

Correction: looks like build out is now complete, they'll be opening in weeks, not months.

Speaking of which, what ever happened to that? I haven't heard any updates in a while.

This isn’t the food hall on Park, which was waiting for Park realignment. This was the mixed use on across from 220 Riverside. They have been digging in there a few times.

Nothing active as of a few days ago.  Last pulled was for the building demo.

Tonight, this site was covered with dozens of geese.  They will have extra cleanup tomorrow for sure  8).
