No mention of Kenny Gilbert's new place in Springfield, Silkies!  I've eaten there, seems like Soul Food, and it's really good.

At 1602 Walnut Street.

More like fancy-ish Southern food.

^That was what I settled on. Great place, great food but I don't think I'd call it a soul food restaurant.

The KraVegan soul food truck (usually at RAM on Saturdays, among other locations) deserves a mention.  I went there out of curiosity that a vegan restaurant could capture soul food flavors, and it was surprisingly effective.

Of course I think of garlic crab places as a unique feature of Jacksonville's soul food scene as well.
