Maybe we should elect the officials of Baldwin to run Jacksonville.  They have managed to have the City (not private developers!) buy and preserve a major historic structure and manage their retail center as opposed to demolishing them.  How progressive and novel!  All, without the assistance of Shad Khan or spending over $233 million of taxpayer money 8).  Not bad for a town 1/600th the size of Jacksonville.

You haven't driven through lately... I think it's a slowly dying town. Beaver street (main) is full of empty store fronts.  Making matters worse for Baldwin is the new 301 bypass that will divert all I-10 and 301 traffic around the town. It is a nice little town but...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Well, this would then be something Baldwin does have in common with its big brother's (Jacksonville) downtown retail  8).
