Bad piece. Article says "FLORIDA Cracks Down on Violent Crime at Strip Mall Casinos", and proceeds to only talk about one city. If the article said "Jacksonville's Woes With Crime at Strip Mall Casinos" then it would be more accurate. Of course conveniently targeting the least leftist large city in FL, no bias there.... Will Bloomberg talk about the corruption in Broward County? I doubt it... So screw Bloomberg (the media and the candidate).

^^^Crime at internet cafes may have been happening in Jax more frequently than the rest of the state (particularly as of late), but there is plenty of internet cafe crime throughout most of the state (particularly from NE Florida to Central FL.) Give it a rest dude.  Stop seeing everything as Left/Right when politics has nothing to do with the topic at hand. The article is a good piece and fair. Using FL instead of JAX is fair because JAX isn't exactly a household name outside of FL. To say nothing of the fact there are other states with a Jacksonville.

^^^I call BS on "Jax not being a household name" This is 2019 buddy, not 1974. Jax is a major city in FL; no matter how you spin it, compare it with Tampa or Miami etc, it doesn't change that fact. Stop it with the downplaying....

Jacksonville is BY FAR the biggest 'Jacksonville" in the USA, but sometimes the city is listed as "Jacksonville, FL" because there are so many other cities with that name. It's really no different than a newspaper listing Kansas City, MO; Portland, OR; Rochchester, NY or Richmond, VA (which all have notable counterpart namesakes in other states).

If you don't know Jax by know, you are awful in US geography (and probably couldn't name 20 state capitals). I know every major and notable city in the US (I'm an average guy) it's really not that hard. That "where's Jax" charade was cute at first, now it's over.

^^^I believe that many on MJ have a masochistic fetish with Jacksonville (therefore liking ANY critical article concerning Jax); I have some kinks, but that one isn't my thing. I used to blindly defend Jax with everything; now I'm more mature, and listen to many on here who's urban planning knowledge far surpasses mine. I even agree with many Jax criticisms, like this Landing BS.

To cut to the chase, this article of unfair BS, simple as that. The elite ivory tower partisan media (Bloomberg News, who thinks nothing exist outside of Manhattan) singled out ONE CITY out of an entire state, even though significant internet cafe crime is happening in other parts of the state (I provided the evidence above). To concede with you Viupstate, (since no one know where Jax is) the article should've said "Jacksonville, Florida's Woes With Crime at Strip Mall Casinos" but it didn't.

So excuse me for defending my city against of bunch of elitist hacks living across from Central Park in plush skyscrapers.

I could even see how some on the left could say that this article has some racial undertones (I don't agree with that, but with today's ultra PC, "everything offends me" TYT era), that's not out of the question. Trump got some criticism for telling the truth about Baltimore (Things that the late Elijah Cummings and the indicted former mayor Catherine Pugh basically said also).

Again, I don't think that this article is racial (just heavily biased against one city), but this is the era that many of you progressives have created. Stay woke!!!

The article is about Jacksonville finding a way to shut down these internet arcades where as other cities have not. It's not saying Jax has (or had) the worst interest arcade crime.

Other Florida cities stopped internet cafes from going into business also (I believe that Miami did). It's a weirdly titled article, that goes in on one city.
