Are coal fired power plants doomed?
« on: July 24, 2019, 07:45:50 PM »
JEA recently demolished the coal-fired plant on the Northside. One of the largest coal mining companies in the US abruptly declared bankruptcy this month. Even Idaho (not exactly the Sunshine state) now has an agreement for a solar power plant that produces electricity for less than 2.5 cents a kilowatt hour.
Britain is going to close all its coal power plants by 2025. Is generating electricity with coal rapidly vanishing? Or can Trump stem the tide? ::)
