Double drive-thrus at McDonald's
« on: May 18, 2019, 09:45:35 AM »
New McDonald's restaurants and old ones that have gotten remodeled typically have double drive thrus. Two drive thru speakers to drive to. Chick Fil A restaurants also have double drive thrus. What advantage do they have? They don't make the people get through the drive thru any faster because they go to the same window.

It's a conspiracy.  Should someone in line decide that they don't need any artery clogging "food" after all, it makes escaping more difficult so they stay in line and buy the crap anyway.

It increases overall throughput. If one person takes an abnormally long time at one box, the other box can still move cars. Speed of Service is how many fast food restaurants are measured for performance and shaving a couple seconds off an order can bring the overall average down.
