Was informed that menudo will be available on weekends.

Nice! Hope enough people buy it to make it a regular thing! Love it.

Ate there Wednesday night.  Certainly not cheap but the food was very good.  I like the decor no day of the dead type stuff. I would say the California cool type colors and a bit minimalist.  Love the bar.  I can see myself gravitating to El Jefe regularly.  For me a nice value add was that with the free starter chips and salsa that lots of places do they also had a nice creamy Avocado dip.

Pro tip:The Chimichanga was very good nicely crispy fried. However like every other American place it will be soggy if you don't order the sauce on the side.(Good Sauce)

Went this past Tuesday around 7pm, and they had a waitlist. El Jefe is killing it in Murray Hill.

I went last night at 6:45 and got a table, but it was certainly busy.  Everything was delicious and the service was great.  They even threw in some chips and salsa to go!

I've been twice. I did enjoy it both times.  However my puffy tacos were soggy as they sat on the plate next to some slaw or salad ( I can't remember).

So I actually would present them on a smaller separate plate so they stay crunchy, which I believe is the intention.

Funny I had a similar "problem" with my San Antonio puffy tacos being a bit soggy but that was because it was well-stuffed with ground beef that I guess it was inevitable. Anyway the rest of the shell was airy and crisp so together they melded perfectly.

Really loved what they did to the place. Pleased to see they utilized the entire footprint of the old Curry Thomas and it was totally buzzing. Was a first time visit for not just me but all my friends and we all totally enjoyed it. And Welcome Back, Silver Cow!
