The 5 points Hoptinger is outstanding... plenty busy...

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-- little too Void/ dude brah vibe for me.
I'm with you. It's also why I rarely leave my house, as it's the only place where the environment is exactly suited to my personality and outlook. It's my safe space, if you will.

I live alone.

I mean...I don't expect everything to "exactly" suit my personality, but I am also not going somewhere where I find the vibe to be pretty douchey.

NRW beat me to it, but I couldn't help think of this...

Lol... yeah... not sure what the crowd is like later in the evening.  The two times I dropped in was during the Happy hour-ish time frame and the crowd seemed pretty diverse... but I will share a beer and talk to anyone... 8)
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

I like Hoptinger's food, and the service—the times I've been, anyway—has been fine. I try to avoid most places during peak business hours, just because I do not care to dine in loud, noisy places.* I'd probably not like it if I found myself in a restaurant filled with, say, dozens of people wearing MAGA hats, but if that were to happen, I'd hope I just came at a bad time.

*Brunch hours, for instance, can be awful; not because a particular place may be overly busy, but there will always be a small group of people howlingly drunk on mimosas when it hasn't even hit noon. People like that are arguably douchey, but I'm not interested in judging them. I just don't want to be around screaming, intoxicated diners at that time of day.

Went at 12;40 pm yesterday. It should work. Not terribly creative but does fit 5 Points nicely. Exposed brick, large bar. The food was good. I'll def go back.

I went last Saturday night at what I assume is a busy time for them. The wait didn't take more than an hour, and the service was really pretty good for a crazy busy place that just opened. The food was good and well priced, same with the beer and drink selection. I'd certainly recommend the place based on that experience.

I don't particularly care to hang with dudebros, but I'm not going to avoid a place that has good food, good drinks, and a really nice space simply because dudebros enjoy it too. It's not like they make you get swole, put on a collared shirt, or even talk to people you don't want to talk to when you go. Though anyone avoiding Hoptingers because of the Chads and Stacys should probably just start writing off 5 Points entirely, because that's the way it's been heading for a while now.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

MMR, storming out of Hoptinger in a rage, appalled that the hostess tried to seat him at a table adjacent to someone wearing a Salt Life t-shirt.

As a guy from the beach, I hope that seeing more people like me at restaurants in the core would be a good thing. Years ago I would never leave the beach but as redevelopment happens people follow. If only there were more people from the beach coming into Springfield, MurryHill and the Core. I think its kind of hypocritical for some of you to stereotype dude bros coming into an area when that should be a sign of progress. Anyways I dont care for the Jersey shore type either but if they are spending money DT then I am all for it.
Also I realize this is mostly a joke thread but just thought id give my two cents.

Wellll... it became a joke thread after someone brought their high schooley cliques and stereotypes to the party... we can only hope they grow out of it...lol
