As much as I hate everything Weezer has done for the last few years, I saw them at Hangout Music Fest and they put on an awesome show.  Played all of the classics and very little of the new stuff.

I'd pay to see them - especially if they were playing at Daily's Place!

They're playing with Green Day & Fall Out Boy at TIAA Bank Field soon

I know. If you read through the thread, I thought it was Daily's Place.

I've quit buying Weezer albums after that green one and I never liked Green Day. I don't know anything about Fallout Boy, other than they have a terrible name. But I'd still pay to see Weezer play in someplace small (or 'intimate') like Daily's Place (particularly if they were playing a lot of their older stuff). But no way would I pay to see those bands in a massive stadium - shows like that are usually interesting as a spectacle, but not exactly great musical experiences, regardless of the band.

I see what you mean now. I agree, this tour does nothing for me, but is probably hype city for teenagers.

And, lest I seem too negative (as if I could ever be accused of that), I think it's great that Jax landed the show.

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly. It hasn't been my cup of tea since I was in middleschool, but I'm glad to see it here in town.

Meanwhile, I was at the St. Augustine Amphitheater (I refuse to call it "The Amp") 3 times recently for Vampire Weekend, Kacey Musgraves and a free show with Kurt Vile. Would have been back again this Saturday for the awesome local Latin band LPT, but I don't feel like driving there yet again. Dad Rock Live is seriously doing something wrong.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

And did OMD actually play in the PV concert hall?

They did. Between those two venues our city is getting its ass kicked by our own suburbs.

It does seem like a lot of my friends are frequently posting pics of concerts in St Augustine. It's surprising that the largest city in the area isn't getting the shows. Many of those seem perfect for a venue the size of Daily's Place (or the Florida Theatre).

Really, because I didn't realize Machine Gun Kelly, Lumineers, Zac Brown Band, Blink 182, Brantley Gilbert is considered Dad Rock but ok. Not saying they don't get their fair share of "dad rock" but they've got a lot better of the years with a variety of different acts.

I don't know about those others, but Blink 182 and the Lumineers are definitely dad rock.

Lol, okay because i'm pretty sure the context of dad rock in this thread is groups like Chicago, The Doobie Brothers and Sting.

I beg your pardon.
