Maple Street's B Street Eats coming to Murray Hill

Quote
The people behind Maple Street Biscuit Company are bringing their new Latin restaurant to Jacksonville.

B Street Eats will open early next year in the Edgewood Avenue area, in a space it’s taking over from another homegrown favorite. Bold Bean Coffee Roasters closed its Knead Bakeshop in Murray Hill in July, but continued to produce goods there for its cafes.

Now, B Street Eats will take over that space and Bold Bean’s coffee roastery next door. It’s also right next door to one of Maple Street Biscuit’s eight locations.

Great news for Murray Hill. Still miss Knead though. That place was great. I wish the bold bean guys would reopen that place somewhere.

They closed a few weeks back. There are paper covered windows and a sign on the door saying they will reopen as a new concept.

Who knows what the heck that means.

I really liked that place, sad to see them close.  Not that surprised though, every time we went it was empty.  That is a great location and the build out looked really good, so hopefully the new concept catches on.

I went there once and it was good. But anytime I drove by, or walked by it was pretty empty.

I think part of the problem is people did not know what it was. Doesn't matter now.

Wondering what the new concept will be. Hopefully not pizza.

I tried to make it there more frequently, but their menu was really small and kinda repetitive - pulled pork or grilled chicken or vegetarian and some avocado and sauce.  I mean, it was good, but it never made it to my 'have to have' rotation.

I liked the concept but I though the coconut marinated chicken tasted "off" and all sandwiches were on untoasted bread with some form of sauce, dressing or just meat juice that turned the bread into mush.

I noticed a sign went up recently for what must be going in this new space.

Tacos!

Looks like there is already a Yelp page.

At least they did better with the name. Nobody knew what the hell B Street Eats meant.

Maybe they hadn’t heard about El Jefe...

Maybe they're trying to capitalize off of El Jefe's success?

I am sure that is the case.

If it is good, it will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
