In the crowd, Christy Frazier (the owner of Birdies and so many other great things in Jville) our own Josh Taylor, Paula Bartlett,  representatives from most of the media.  A whole lot of people from the Theatre and Cultural community (not just including Hope McMath)

Christie Fraser is not just the owner of Birdies, but is also the Chair of the 5 Points Merchants' Assn and the chief organizer of this "well organized" affair.  A great time, a great crowd, a great event that took a lot of hard work behind the scenes to bring off.
When all else fails hug the dog.

Thanks for the recap, I really wanted to go but had to work. My wife and a couple of her coworkers went and really enjoyed it. She said it felt different too- more cohesive but relaxed and kinda happier and the parade itself was incredible. I know for us, we've always enjoyed Pride and I think it's feeling more and more accessible to folks who maybe in their personal lives don't know too many folks in the LGBT community. No protesters and larger corporate involvement is a huge thing to me- I love this city and most of the people in it and it feels good to know that more and more people are recognizing the LGBT community as essential and incredibly important. There are still plenty of steps that need to be taken but man, it really feels good to get our there and celebrate.

It was an awesome event! The parade was great, even though InCahoots was late and came speeding down St. Johns to join the parade, so we missed them at Aberdeen, but the parade gets bigger and bigger every year, it was great to see so many cool people and it was great to see Michelle Cook of the JSO and so many JSO walking in the parade, she has my vote for Sheriff, she is awesome!

Instead of going to the party, I took my dogs to the John Gorrie Dog Park, that was fun because the traffic barricades were up all around 5-points, it was fun to see so many people trying to find parking for the event, well attended and 5-points was rocking. JSO did a great job with traffic control too. Of course this did cause some accidents, like the one at Riverside and Willowbranch Creek.
