Florida Man Explains His State's Weirdness
« on: August 29, 2016, 02:08:29 PM »
We are a place that a lot of people come to, to try and start over. We’re the land of 1,000 chances. Put that many people together from that many different places, speaking that many different languages, and they’re bound to start ramming their cars into each other or chasing each other with machetes over whose dog pooped on whose lawn. Our tropical climate is another reason why we produce so many weird stories. We’re not cooped up inside, weathering out a blizzard. We’re out 365 days a year, doing crazy stuff, like getting bitten by sharks or having samurai sword battles.

Carl Hiaasen is more "outdoorsy" than Craig,Carl seems to have morphed in to the swamp.
I admire Craig, somehow this latest effort at Weirdness seems as weird repeat.
Rick Bass can speak similarly about Montana. It's a weirdly rambling and vast list of subjects and headlines.

As a Floridian,I have engaged directly with both Carl ("Jacksonville's Millionth Mania") and Craig, most recently texting news events thoughts and observations on Bear Hunt from my remote camp.Relatively Weird citizen inclination.

Even my core habitat Avondale exhibits Weirdness if you think about it,or even if you don't.
