Stage Aurora Partners with Ritz Theatre and Museum

Stage Aurora Theatrical Company has found a new home, The Ritz Theatre and Museum. The hardworking, tough, resilient and incredibly creative group is now the resident theatre company of The Ritz.  This is the first pairing in Jacksonville of a local theatre group with one of the tax supported buildings devoted to theatre,----a move that should have happened 20 years ago in the city's surprising inventory of such buildings.  The Ritz is providing an example to venues like the Florida Theatre and Terry Theatre (and arguably, the Snyder Memorial in Hemming Park) on how to administer public funding for the Arts in such a way that it actually benefits the creative class.  A million Kudos to the Ritz. It about time that Aurora was recognized and aided by our community.

Really great to see! I totally agree that something like this should be done in the old Snyder church. Snyder theatre anyone?
