I met America founder Dan Peek when he went solo in 1981. I was his stage manager for the evening. I couldn't get anything right for him it seemed. He didnt like the piano (a just tuned Steinway), he didnt like his chair for his guitar and harmonica set. I trolled for over an hour trying to find a chair to his liking before he took stage. (I went through 4 unique ones)
I finally told him "its this one, or you stand!"
He took the chair. I told him in the future, bring your own chair or specify it in your contract.
Clearly the guy had had a bad day.
