Id love to see a market at the corner of post and mcduff. That whole area could use some life like a good market or something.  Anyone know of any info on that lot?

Thanks, Metro Jacksonville, for highlighting farmers markets in our area.  We would like to add that not only is Jacksonville Farmers Market open every day of the year, 7 AM to 6 PM, but it is Florida's oldest public farmers market, having opened in 1938.  It also is Florida's most attended market based on a state survey recently conducted and was chosen by Folio Weekly readers as "Best of Jax" Farmers Market.

Unlike most markets, JFM also has both wholesale and retail, along with a restaurant, Andy's Farmers Market Grill (breakfast & lunch, Mon. to Sat.) and food trucks/carts (on Sundays).  Aside from North Florida's biggest selection of local, ethnic, and specialty (including organic vendors on Saturdays and Sundays) produce, JFM has artisan bakers, fresh seafood and plant vendors.  Buy from singles to truckloads.

Please visit our Facebook page for regular updates on seasonal products, vendors, special events and other happenings at JFM: https://www.facebook.com/JaxFarmersMarket

How popular are farmers markets?  Well the U.S. Post Office is issuing these stamps celebrating farmers markets in August!

Visit Jacksonville Farmers Market any day of the year, 7 AM to 6 PM, to see just how popular we can be  :)

Quote
Considered by many to be the new town square, farmers markets offer, as they did in the past, a gathering place for diverse groups of neighbors to meet and mingle and to share news, recipes, and stories—in short, to create a new sense of community.

The Farmers Markets stamps are being issued as Forever® stamps. These Forever stamps will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail® one-ounce rate.
