They might be capable of 50 mph, but the tracks there don't have any place to let the kart stretch it legs. You're probably going about 25 there, but everything feels faster in a kart. The local tracks in the Detroit area serve beer and wine, but they don't get used much due to the prices. Corporate events are they only times I've seen the drink stand get used much.

I seem to remember the was also a limit to how many you could buy, but it's been quite some time since I've gone to the counter.

They have a "zero tolerance" policy regarding alcohol consumption, but I've never seen any indication that they enforce it. Although you are only going 25mph, being broadsided by another kart really, really hurts, so hopefully they don't let people race that are visibly impaired. (I'm sure their insurance company won't let them)

I really hope this is granted. Often the wait time is over an hour and it'd be nice to have a beer while you wait. Also, often people go just to take family members and watch, so there is no reason they shouldn't be able to have a drink.

I'm really glad this place is doing well, it's really fun and a great thing to do with friends on a rainy night.

They do this at Andretti Indoor Racing in Orlando.  Not much in the way of enforcement that I could tell....(hic)

I agree. I'm only 5'9" and could use more leg room; I really feel for taller people. Nevertheless, it's nothing more fun than getting in a competitive 'rubbin' race with others.
