Lucky Jax!  I grew up on Swedish food and still keep a few commodities in the fridge (couple different types of pickled herring which they say is an acquired taste but I find it delicious!)

To me Swedish food tastes really "fresh" outside of hearty Swedish meatballs (pretty sure my grandmother's condo was the only place to get legit meatballs before...my mother can't cook them like her mother can); never liked lingonberries though.

I think Jax can claim something now that SF doesn't have at all ;)  which is rare especially in the food industry, though we do have Pläj restaurant, which is not "Swedish" per se but general CA-Skandinavian fusion.  Some Swedish restaurants in Chicago however (where my mom's family and so many others immigrated in 40s-60s from the motherland).

Exciting article!

Well golly gee whiz, Skippy!!!!  I guess my step will be just a tad lighter for the rest of the glorious day.

Hm, I think Simms lives in San Francisco. And doesn't mtrain live near Jim Love? I wouldn't know from how little they mention it!

Okay, that Viking dog looks pretty legit. I'm coming for you, Swedish Bistro.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Not sure a food truck will fill the gaping "Swedish cuisine" shortage in Jacksonville... but it is a good start...  8)
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Some would say I am biased... but this truck has become one of my personal favorites.

At Intuition's Oktoberfest yesterday, they served some legit schnitzel (Chef Karin is German).

In addition to the Swedish meatballs, I'm a big fan of the salmon wrap.

BTW, they are parked downtown at Main/Forsyth every Monday if you work downtown.. highly recommended!

You are totally biased, Field...  ;)

Before I went completely "questions about posting history and screen names" on Simms3 (which is completely legit about 98% of the time, BTW) I had my first opportunity to give the Swedish Meatball a try  for myself, and it was quite tasty.  Not my first choice on a warm-ish Saturday morning with another 6-7 mile bike ride to go, but it was for my mini-me and who am I to say no?

Flavorful.  Tender.  Crispy.  Delicious.

Those words pretty much sum up all of the different components of a Meatball and Mashed potato dish.

And FTW - I took a the shell of a carnitas taco with half the meat still in it, added a few pieces of asparagus from the GFs taco (thumbs up to Corner Taco), a scoop of mashed potatoes, shredded some meatball and topped it all with the likenberry (sic) sauce and some of the pickled cukes....  It was like Thanksgiving in my mouth!  (any mis-interpreted pun intended) And comes highly recommended.

So if you find yourself enjoying a CFS near the Landing, I would definitely recommend stopping by both and enjoying a cultural epiphany in your mouth.  ;D

Had the Swedish Truck's Salmon Burger at the Octoberfest Intuition bash this past Sunday, it was delicious. Hope they are at the Jaxtoberfest this weekend!
