*there was a time when democrats and republicans were able to work together.
* But as moral polarization increases so does a lack of corporation.

He compares the blue tie/ red tie of Obama and McCain to the same sort of symbols used in gangs, bloods vs crypts. We're marking our red and blue territories to the same mentality as is seen in gangs.

Arash, your lack of street cred is showing.  Its Crips. ;)

Oh no, my mom always told me that there were certain neighborhoods I should stay far away from.

He's providing a series of examples of where the left vs right are actually fighting each other over the same position.

Looks like the videos are done. Now, we have the option to break into small groups and discuss the conversation.

A couple of tedx volunteers will lead a group around each talk.

Was a fun event.  Was good seeing you across the very crowded staging area, StephenDare.  Was there any symbolism to the exhibit being about dinosaurs?  Can TEDx help us break away from the prehistoric thinking around here?

I think the last speaker was a bit too optimistic about the ability to bridge the gap between Right and Left.  I did like his Asteroid analogy, though.  Unfortunately, it may take real asteroids to get us to work together.

I had a great time and really enjoyed the breakout discussions. Lots of great conversation and met some great folks from all over the community.

Well done, MetroJAX. Great coverage and wonderful interviews on an evening that, one hopes, will be a spring board for positive change.

I'm so bummed I missed this show. The Salon must have been pumped full of thinkers and shakers. These are some great videos though. Thanks for making these available to us.
