Jersey Mikes coming to Jax!!!!

I left off the Pinegrove Market in Avondale.  They also have very good sandwiches, probably better than Larry's or Firehouse, maybe even better than Jersey Mikes.

Yeah but.  $15 for a large Cuban, bag of chips and a drink.....  It's awesome food, but a tad on the pricey side for sandwiches. 

I don't think I'll ever go to Whiteway again - same pricepoint, less quality.

I wouldn't really put Pine Grove in the same classification as those other places.  Jersey Mikes, Firehouse, Larry's etc. are basically fast food sandwich shops.  Pine Grove I would consider more of a (non fast food) restaurant since they have more than just sandwiches.  That being said, I like Pine Grove very much.

Maybe.  If the one's celebrating lived near SJTC instead of near the Roosevelt location.  Why cheer on something I'll never visit? 

Much like I don't think I'd get too excited over an Aston Martin Dealership opening up in 5 points.  yay.

Jersey mikes would get lost in the crowd over there at the town center.  Roosevelt Blvd is due for something like this.

I was there friday..... meh.

If I had to describe my meal in one word:  Blimpies.

From the way the meat & veggies are sliced to the oil-vinegar flavoring to the bread.  It screamed Blimpies all the way.



And it's not that I hate Blimpies, it's just not in my top 5.  That being said, I will definitely go back to try one of their hot subs and the roast beef.   They looked delicious, but for my first comparison I had to put them up against my go to sandwich - Turkey and Bacon.

I went there last week and it was decent.  Reminded me of sandwiches my dad I and I used to make on Saturday afternoons.  Ours were better, but just the memories being brought back were worth the trip.  I live less than a mile away, so I'm going to give the menu a more thorough examination before I make an opinion, but it wasn't bad.

JM's Big Kahuna Cheese Steak is very good; It has grilled onions, red peppers, mushrooms, jalapenos, and extra chesse. IMO Bongiorno's Philly Steak Shop (on Mayport Road in front of the Naval Exchange/commissary) has the best cheesesteaks in Jax; It doesn't get too much more authentic than that.

The hot subs looked awesome.  As did the roast beef.  I'll be back, for sure, just not for a turkey sub.

The cold subs were never a big draw for me when I've been in Jersey Mikes' elsewhere.

The chipotle steak sub is good(and BIG).

My only problem with Jersey Mikes thus far is that their hot sub menu is miniscule compared to Larrys. 

JM is still squarely in 3rd place on my chain sub list.
