Rogue St Johns "Planning" Dep't Eliminating Tree Req'ts
« on: November 11, 2011, 09:54:20 AM »
At the November 16, 2011 Planning Open House the St Johns County "Planners" will present new Regulations, Section 6.06.02 Amendment, that will remove the requirement of any trees to remain or be planted in buffer areas (hope there's not a Super-center going up next to your development).

Jeeze!!

It think SJC has spilled its sweet iced tea in its lap and has fallen completely out of it's turn of the century broke down rocking chair.  "Help I've fallen and I can't get up!"

Why on earth would they do such a thing?  All in the name of enticing development?  They actually think that the cost and permitting issues with existing/new trees are bringing potential development to a halt?  Gimme a break!

Duval county is ahead of the curve on this one. Forget the Super Center. Who gets the Paul Bunyon award for hacking a 100'swath through an unbelievable urban rookery with nesting herons on McCoys Creek a Downtown tributary that connects to our St. Johns River our American Heritage River a Federal Initiative. Anybody want to see this from the water? Was this authorized at a recent Waterways sub committee meeting? Is this a Public/Private Partnership?

The only thing I would add to the equation is that even rogues have masters to serve.  IOW, they are doing what they are told to do, or lose their jobs.  In this economy, what would YOU do?
