Regarding downtown, nothing that hasn't already been said.  They spoke a lot about parking and he said he'd get the Landing it's parking but it had to be a logical deal.  To that effect, he mentioned the insane Metropolitan Parking Solutions garage deal as something we've got to avoid.

IF downtown is Thriving, make downtown a destination, but he wants to step back and allow Private Investment to drive the growth in downtown. Same ol same ol, but at least he is speaking about it, unlike Peyton who rarely said ANYTHING.

I didn't hear the show today.  Were the transition committee reports addressed?

Taken as a whole, those reports could be a useful tool for prying out the changes that are really needed.

He hasnt been in office three months and everyone wants him to wave his magic wond! The budget is done, now they are working on re-organization. Those things come first! Geez, give the guy time. Atleast he is concerned for DT. And thats saying alot more than majority of the mayor we have had.

On the radio he said he was concerned about residential home construction.  He lost a lot of points with me.

We're probably a few months to a good year away from seeing any form of strong policy officially being implemented with DT.  I heard him on the radio and didn't agree with everything said but I assume, like most on the council, he don't have the answers to all the complex economic issues facing our community.  So as far as Brown goes, I'm not expecting him to be the messiah.  His term will be determined based on the team he ultimately builds around him.

I am not expecting him to wave the "magic wand" and I certaintly don't see him as the "messiah", I just know that he has got to get moving on the downtown issues soon, we can't afford to wait any longer. The time for talk is over.

A term is four years, not three months. I think we all went into with our expectations being a little too unrealistic. I will criticize what he has/has not accomplished when the end of his term reaches near.

On the radio he said he was concerned about residential home construction.  He lost a lot of points with me.

Maybe he meant in existing neighborhoods.  I've been very pleased with what I've seen from him so far.  If I had it to do over again I'd vote for him.

I am still happy with him overall. He was talking about construction jobs when he mentioned a list that included residential.
