No strong feelings either way on Foles, but really, really, really sad to see Bortles released.

Dude was a class act on and off the field.

Really wish we could have won a Superbowl with Bortles, but won't forget that he brought us closer than any QB in franchise history.

Even if it was time to move on, guy deserves more than a six word tweet from the Jags.

Long live the BOAT, that's my quarterback.

Mark Brunell took the Jaguars to the AFC Championship TWICE. 96' and 99' so Mark Brunell deserves the crown for taking us twice!

Bortles definitely took us far in 2017, no disrespect!

If Blake cared 1/10th as much at trying to improve at his craft as much as some fans cared about him, he would probably be a pretty good QB. I have not been shy about wanting him gone for three years so good riddance.Sorry, but have no respect for poor work ethic/dedication no matter the vocation/income.
I wish him nothing but the best in what I expect will be a very lucrative career holding a clipboard. He could not have had a better mentor in Henne.

I don't love the Foles transaction but I am  happy that the Jags have a professional football player at QB.

Hopefully this will help with tickets as I get the sense things have not been looking good, at least in the premium section.

I hope Foles is the answer- I know Bortles wasn't.  I wish Blake all of the best.  I think he had potential, but doesn't have the head of a good QB.  Foles may have the brains needed and with some decent receivers have a great stay here.

600 responses to the Jags Tweet about signing Foles.

1.3k responses to the Jags Tweet about releasing Bortles.

Almost universally praising him for being such a good dude.

I like this idea. I know it wouldn't be of him studying film but this has fan contest written all over it.

For football related, I say an action shot of him showing amazing toughness and grit trying to prevent a pick six return.

But I kind of like one of him sitting on a huge pile of cash, drinking a beer, and grinning like a cheshire cat.

And I need Curtis Dvorak, in full JD costume, but holding the head in his hands, gazing up at him lovingly to complete the picture.

Damn, I should have been in the arts and not finance.

Foles!  Welcome, but to do it right in Florida, ya gotta live at Ponte Vedra Beach!!!  It's why Florida's here.   ;)

Poor Patriots.  ONLY 12 draft picks this year. With 3 in the first 2 rounds.  Belichik and company kicking everyone's ass on and off the field.
