Looks like ATL is playing that "relocation" card again to leverage a deal in ATL. For those who dont know, ATL duped Jax like that back in the day (wayyy back in the day). Toyed with us about relocating the falcons, just to get the deal they wanted from the city of ATL. What amazes me is that LA just wont quit. NOBODY is moving their team. Leave people alone!!

Atlanta Falcons reportedly receiving interest from L.A.

Los Angeles wants back in the NFL game. The nation's No. 2 media market has been without a team since the Rams and Raiders relocated to St. Louis and Oakland, respectively, in 1995. WAGA-TV in Atlanta reports Falcons owner Arthur Blank has been courted by business interests in Los Angeles about a potential move.

Two unnamed Atlanta city council members said Blank shared the information in a meeting with top city and Georgia state officials while discussing financing for a new open-air stadium in downtown Atlanta. Mayor Kasim Reed insists that talks between the Falcons and the city have not been contentious. In fact, it's believed that Blank might be willing to increase the percentage the team is willing to pay to make the $1 billion deal possible.

The report begs the question: What is Blank's motivation for revealing the interest? Both Blank and Reed reportedly are prodding city council members to "take a more aggressive lead in the public financing portion" of the stadium financing. Public support for the project to replace the Georgia Dome hasn't been strong to date.

The upshot is that Blank isn't seriously considering a relocation to California. "Arthur Blank has never played that card, and I give him credit for that," Georgia govenor Nathan Deal said.

The Falcons hope to open their new stadium by 2017.

This is some funny ish. I read about it, but had not seen the video. I am dying right now  ;D The one comment saying " Atleast Tebow can win in the playoffs, unlike Peyton Manning." just made me wonder what crack they are smoking. Peyton Manning has won the superbowl and MULTIPLE playoff games. He dont got shit to prove to bitter ass Tebow fans.

^^^Exactly. The way that the 'pro-Tebow/anti-Peyton'  people talk as if Manning never won a playoff game or something. These unrealistic-type Tebow fans (like 80 percent of the Action News staff) have gotten very quiet suddenly, talk about crawling back into the woodwork.

Good stuff Duval. I'm not the one that's gonna give Weaver flak just because things didn't go according to plan during the later years. IMO way too many people beat up on him incessantly about stuff that he did meaning good intention (like firing an at the time unpopular Coughlin, the Winn Dixie ticket sales etc). Far as I'm concerned, he didn't have to explain himself to anyone. The Weaver to Khan transition was pretty damn smooth, as Khan looks like he's all in for Jax; Just another thing Weaver received no credit for.  Maybe I'm biased, but didn't the man bring the team to Jax? Where would Jax be without him concerning the national spotlight? So yeah, I'm a Weaver fanboy of sorts. :)

I can agree and disagree. As far as his love and passion for the team and this city, I love him dearly for. As far as a NFL franchise owner, he was the pits. Everything was done with good intentions, but never panned out. I dont blame him for firing Coughlin, but he is the owner and should have been more aware of what was happening with that salary cap. The winn dixie ticket give away wasnt the brighest idea. Giving away tickets and covering up seats was exactly a equation to sell more tickets. As far as the players and coaches, he was too emotionally invovled and it over rode his common sense quite a bit. He snot perfect and no one else, but he made some very bad decisions that set the franchise back, which he has acknowledged  a few times since selling the team. Hes a great man, but he made a lot of bad choices. It just is what it is.

Well Looks like the London game is sold out already, Khan said to stay tuned about the new unforms, (which in his terms mean an announcement is coming soon) and Caldwell has starting evaluating the players.

NEW ORLEANS – Jaguars owner Shad Khan, general manager Dave Caldwell and coach Gus Bradley are all in town for Sunday’s Super Bowl.

During separate interviews this morning, the trio talked about various topics:

*The Jaguars still have openings at running backs and tight ends coach, but Caldwell and Bradley anticipate filling those within a week. A guess could be that they’re waiting until after next week’s National Signing Day.

*Caldwell on the new coaching staff: “They’re all really passionate, they’re all highly bright football IQ guys and they’re good guys. They’re fun to see in the office on a daily basis and they’re all positive.”

*Caldwell has watched each Jaguars game from 2012 and certain cut-ups of players who had their seasons end because of injuries or played a bigger role late in the year. “I am actually encouraged by what I’ve seen so far,” he said.

*Bradley said he anticipates defensive coordinator Bob Babich calling the plays. “I’ll have a lot of input on that and those things will be figured out,” Bradley said. “I would like for him to do it.”

*Khan said the Jaguars’ game in London against San Francisco this October is sold out. He called it a “pleasant surprise,” that it happened this quickly.

*Khan said “stay tuned” on potential changes to the Jaguars’ helmets and uniforms. “

*Khan on being here for Super Bowl Week: “You want to do a lot. It’s a great experience being here but this is a business component to it and there is a relationship component to it. It’s an opportunity to interact with sponsors and to make sure we’re meeting their expectations. I have a lot of guests from the auto business here.”

*Khan doesn’t foresee the Jaguars being overly active in free agency this March. “We have to focus on really putting a team together through the draft and then filling a hole or two with free agents.”

*As of now, Khan said he won’t attend this month’s Scouting Combine in Indianapolis to be involved in interviewing players. “Depending on the schedule and the value I can add, I might, but I don’t plan on it,” he said.

I just read that Khan said the new uniforms will be unveiled on the league schedule, which means April. Im excited to see what it looks like. Unlike WW, Khan is not a simple guy. He believes in things being top notched and he has very good taste. Ive seen this picture around for awhile and I really hope it will look similar to this. The teal part at the bottom is odd and can be done away with. Teal socks should cover that part of the players leg anyways.

According to actionnews & bigcatcountry, the Jags are expected to get a new logo that will be uneviled later on this afternoon. I'm not sure if the change will be a completely different logo or will it just be a subtle change ie. Panthers and Cardinals. The way that the story sounds as if it's gonna be a completely different logo. I'm not really feeling this move as I think that the logo is fine the way it is, oh well can't wait to see how it looks.

I think it is part of Khan rebranding the organization. I don't really care either way to be honest. I do expect half of the people will love it and half will hate it. New uniforms are supposed to be coming also later in the spring. They will have a more "Nike" look to them.

I like that they made it a more realistic cat rather than a Nike-ized robot, which is what I was fearing.

I thought the two weak spots of the old logo (which I loved overall) were the jellybean-shaped spots and the triangle ears, and I think they improved on both of those.

I'm not as enamored of the teal nose and eyes.  Still, I can very easily live with it overall.
