College Football Thread
« on: September 19, 2011, 11:51:04 AM »
Before I start this off, I want to say Go Gators.

However, I will say this college season, their is no number one team, only a bunch of 2's, 3's 4's and 5's.

Anyone see the FSU game? They totally disappointed me.

Speaking of the FSU game - any word on how that kid is doing that had his head sandwiched between a linebacker and a safety?

I'm an FSU fan, and was at the game.

While I didn't like the outcome, I don't know how you can say that FSU was disappointing you?  Considering we had to play almost 2 quarters with our freshman backup.  I would have loved a win, but I didn't go into the game expecting one, my prediction was OU 31-27.  I underestimated how good the defenses were.

I don't know how anyone can look at Oklahoma and Alabama and still say that there are no #1 teams.  Both teams are dominant.  (I leave out LSU, cause I think Les Miles is a joke...but he finds ways to win...I don't know how, but he does).

Kenny Shaw the receiver is fine.  He was actually back on the sidelines in the 4th quarter.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

Good to hear, I saw the hit and cringed.  Dude was ko'd before he even landed.  Let's hope you Noles can come back healthy on the 1st - rest 'em up and let Clemson do it's thing this weekend.

Dude yall could have won that game. The Defense let FSU Down not the O in my opinion. The Offense was not responsible for Stiller's Game winning Touchdown IJS.

LSU and Alabama are not really dominant in my opinion. LSU sturggled against MISS ST, they have no offense whatsoever. Penn State showed that you can move the ball Against Alabama.  FSU brought Oklahoma back down to earth in my opinion.

The only dominating game this year against someone worth something was LSU dismantling the Oregon Ducks. Then they got brought down to earth by MISS ST.

We will see how good Alabama is, when they play the Razorbacks. LSU has another test this weekend against WV.

State plays Clemson this weekend, they are coming off a win Against Auburn. But FSU will be too much for Clemson, Jimbo and the crew, will get it together.

We must have been watching a different game.   The one I saw had FSU score on a fluke touchdown. Never did the offense drive for a TD.  FSU rushed for 27 total yards.  Do you know how hard it is to rush for 27 yards when your starting QB actually rushed for 49?  Yes, you read that right.  The offense couldn't get a single thing going.  It was 2000 national championship game all over.

The defense was absolutely stellar against what is considered to be the best offense in college football this year.  This loss hangs on the offenses inability to score and not turn the ball over.  It was well understood in the stadium that we needed a Greg Reid Special teams touchdown.

I'm not following what you're saying about the rest of college football.  How is playing an away game at the #5 team in the nation, in what was the loudest stadium I've ever been in, and winning by 10 points considered "brought down to earth"?  What was do be expected?

Penn State was thoroughly dominated by Bama.

FSU will not have an easy go of it in Clemson.  We don't even know if EJ can play.  Plus we can't run the ball worth a crap.  This FSU team is built on defense and Greg Reid special teams.

Terrible weekend for football...Noles and Jags lost! I agree I think FSU will have a tough time against Clemson next week. They looked pretty good against Auburn.

I think something that every college football fan should be concerned about is the tumble that FSU took in the polls.  Just proves, there is absolutely no incentive for scheduling tough OOC games.

Here's my take on Clemson - they always have a trackstar at RB.  That's a given.

They'll find a QB somewhere, out of the blue, that can manage the game.

Their lines on both sides are usually pretty good - those boys eat well around the school.

WR and DB - always our Achilles' Heel.  this year, we have guys that can catch.  Not saying we're a powerhouse by any means, but that we'll compete in more games than we have in the past.

I thought it ws a good game and the Noles played well.  OU is a strong team,, #1 actually.  As a Gator its nice to see our old arch rival back in the saddle.

Gators have a tough schedule this year imo.  Alabama, LSU, Noles, SC, hey,, Vandy looked good and of course Georgia(never to be discounted in Jax).

Its going to be a great season.  I sure hope Muschamp knows what he is doing.  LOL.

I like Coach Boom. The Gator Defense is playing good, we just got to get the RedZone execution on O upgraded.
