Florida Wire and Cable. My dad used to work there. I remember waiting in the parking lot with my mom and sister for him to get off. It was a 24-7 operation back in the day.

I work for Eastern Wire Products in the buiding next door to Sysco, you should have stopped by on a weekday, and I would have given you a tour. We are still manufacturing strong after 30 years.

My family has had a business in this area for almost 50 years - Quality Hardware and Specialty Company at Ellis and Doolittle.  As rough and tumble as this area is, it has always held a certain charm to me.  Thanks for the photo tour!

I work in this neighborhood. Always reminded me of Cleveland with all the manufacturing. I remember trying to take the bus to work once. The bus stop was a patch of grass with a sign, so I walked farther down to Beaver where at least there was a bench for my patch of dirt and a sign. Then the bus ended up just driving past while I was I sitting, so I ended walking home that day instead of waiting another hour for the bus to come. Never rode it since.
