Nearly every city of significant size in the south, claim's their version of Jacksonville's LaVilla is the 'Harlem of the South'? Here is a look at six different 'Harlems of the South' and why LaVilla was much more and should be recognized as such.

I like the blue signs that Pensacola used in their heritage marker trail.  They look better than any of the proposals for our own Jax Heritage Trail imho.  They are attractive and attention-getting (vibrant blue background), take up less walking space, and probably require very little, if any, maintenance.
