Jacksonville University announced a partnership Nov. 30 with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine to establish LECOM at JU.
The medical school expects an inaugural class of about 75 students enrolled in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) program in 2026, with enrollment growing to nearly 150 students per year within five years.
LECOM plans to invest about $50 million to develop the JU location. By 2030, the project is expected to support more than 600 jobs and provide an estimated economic impact of $60 million per year.
