Got 2 Connections before failing.  Strands was hardest one yet with specialized crazy words but finally got it after stumbling on 4 words by accident including getting the yellow word by process of elimination which I had to look up what the heck it meant.  From there, I finished the last 3 words with no official hints but with a little more help from Google.

Connections, one error - according to the ConnectionsBot this was an "extremely tricky" day, with more than half (at the time of this posting) failing.

Strands was a tough one today, and after stumbling on the first word - which could have fit another interpretation of the theme clue - I had to use a clue. This put me on the right track, and words fell into place.
