I read recently that Summit Contractors (who occupy the mid-century 1000 Riverside) are
selling that building moving their operations to larger space in Baymeadows/SS.
That building would be PERFECT for a hip boutique hotel!  It already has a rooftop lounge and
ground floor restaurant.  I suspect it could fit ~14 rooms/floor over 7 floors = ~100 rooms with river/DT/park views.

Summit only occupies a few floors in that building. The rest of the office space is rented to other companies. Whoever the buyer is going to be, is likely to be a passive owner that will backfill the space Summit is vacating to other office users.

BTW, Summit did a really nice job updating the interior of the building since they bought it four years ago. Apparently, aging mid century modern high rises that have had deferred maintenance issues can be rehabbed quite well. Weird that JEA wants to tear down an even bigger one than selling it outright to a private developer.
