Roosevelt Square’s conversion into Ortega Park continues as the city issued permits May 5 for almost $5 million in renovation and construction.

One of the new buildings at the West Jacksonville shopping center is designated for First Watch, The Daytime Café.

First Watch would occupy a new building near the corner of Roosevelt Boulevard and San Juan Avenue.

It’s an ugly building even at only two walls May 18 2020,far too tall, blocks light and historical visual scenery image.
The long lines at Chick Filet only drive home a certain realization.
And to think, at on time, Grace Rodgers owned what would become the Chick Filet location....... the “ Controversy” over a Cypress Tree on the parcel, destined for Cut Down.
During Irma 50% of the property was knee deep......
Fast Forward and rename the place” Ortega”.
Future non disclosed plots could be named Really Really Ugly High Density Vibrant Plots.

Sometimes I wonder if maybe FP&L has a doctorate of English and is just writing at a level above my head. Then I see his random capitalization of letters, obscenely long ellipses, and inability to spell Chick-Fil-A correctly.  Maybe he doesn't eat the stuff, so he's not aware that they purposely misspell fillet, but that's not even the correct way to spell fillet unless you're French.... Hmmm maybe he's French..?  That's unlikely because he has stated numerous times that his favorite restaurant in Avondale is The Brick which is boring, poorly executed, and overpriced.  A Frenchman would know this and keep a safe distance.  The Brick is fine dining to someone who has grown up on applebees and chilis like Trump is a successful genius to anyone who has never read a book.

In conclusion, I clearly put more thought into what FP&L says and how he says it than he does, so I need a new hobby.

In the absence of Glenn, he's all we got.

This Neighborhood Thread activity has bogged down, as if submerged, flailing in a Retention Pond....
Talk about over one’s head....;
The viewscape ( Yea, Big Word) is undergoing modification. More concrete, building walls where before there was an open view. yea!!!!
Just what we needed! How did we exist without this Change? Glad the two Retention Ponds are gone. SJRWMD
Next thing we know nearby Ortega Landing Marina will transform to include a nursing home, Marina customers parking needs to simply “overflow.”Yea!!!!!we are a Big Deal!!!

I first stepped foot on to Roosevelt Mall land in 1979.

Reply to #4 and #5:  Really, you have to make fun of someone who is obviously elderly and having trouble expressing his views more clearly? Think how you might be making him feel when he reads your comments.  Old age happens.  You might get there, too, someday.
