Cool video at the link below.

Very LEED.

Phase 2 of the JRTC to break ground imminently.

Congrats to Bob and everyone else that helped convince JEA to re-think that insane plan they had originally.

Yes, the relentless push back on all of the other crazy design and location proposals along the way was well worth it!

Still want the "running greyhound" animated neon marquee from the Bay Street location to be part of the new station.

On another note, since Megabus will also use the terminal, do they get their logo on the outside of the building?

JTA owns the building. It is leased to Greyhound. Megabus must secure an agreement with Greyhound to use the facility, but my understanding is they will not get signage on the building

I'm not aware of any place where Megabus has prominent signage of any sort. Even Union Station in DC where they actually pay to use its bus terminals. Generally speaking Megabus keeps costs very low by using non-descript "stops" on the side of the road so it would be odd for them to shell out the cash to brand on a building.

Removed today, and being moved to Orlando :(

LAAAAME.

What's going to happen to the old bus station? Will it get torn down and an empty lot will be there, or has someone purchased that property and development of some sort (proposed) is being considered or imminent?

When I was a teenager, back in 1975, I drank at that bar and hung out there many a day before hitting the disco's and nightclubs that were there back then in those days (am I old or what LOL?). I think they closed the bar a long, long time ago.

What the hell does Orlando need the old greyhound for? I guess they asked for it. Their bus station is pretty nice; had to pick someone up there a few years back, so I guess they want, or asked for the old greyhound.

^According to the article, the sign is just going to storage. Can't believe they didn't incorporate it into the new building.

It's obvious, we're still pretty weak when it comes to the concept of preservation and the economic role it plays in revitalization of urban areas and settings like DT Jax.

the fella that owns the EverBank building (along with a few other parcels) bought it for almost 3MM. No plans have been announced, but since we moved down here in 2012 I have heard talk about a parking garage going in there. because, you know, 3 garages next to each other makes sense..... ::)
