The audience was quiet at first as a video showed motorcycles, cars and huge 18-wheeled rigs flowing through a computer-animated two-lane traffic circle during City Councilwoman Joyce Morgan’s recent town meeting at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Part of a presentation on a proposed $1.9 million JTA MobilityWorks project to convert the University Boulevard and Merrill Road intersection’s multitude of lanes and traffic lights into a Turbo Roundabout, it would be one of the first uses of that two-lane traffic circle design in the United States if it’s built.

Are all of the ditches even closed up in Arlington before they move on to next gen roundabouts?

JTA had a "virtual groundbreaking" a few days ago for the Turbo Roundabout - the intersection of Merrill and University should be under construction for about a year.
